I was searching for just the right buck to breed Martini AI to in 2008. I loved the beautiful Tach daughters that the Tempo and Barnowl Lamanchas have bred. The depth of appraisal and milk behind Tach is incredible, not to mention his beautiful dam SGCH Kastdemurs Evian being the 2008 and 2009 National Champion and twice LA 94 EEEE! It took all 3 straws of semen I had to get Martini bred but what we got is worth it! Mai Tai is everything that her dam was at a young age, with a longer, leveler rump....the only thing we would change!
Mai Tai's sire Tach Lach was the 2009 Premier sire and Tach daughter Tempo Evianna was Reserve National Champion as a yearling!
2011 - This girl did not disappoint us! At 3 weeks fresh she attended her first show and was Grand in all 3 rings and Best of Breed in one, finishing her Championship!! She also appraised 88 with an E mammary on Linear Appraisal as a first freshener! She is SO exciting!
2012 Update - WHAT an amazing goat this is!!!! She is everything her dam is and more. We feel SO blessed to have her! At the only show of the year she was 2x Best of Breed over 30+ Lamanchas! Judges have compared her to her illustrious granddam SGCH Evian and also the late, great Hoggs Hideaway Chimera! We can only hope she matures out to resemble these two influential animals.
2013- Still the star of the show, we love this goat! She threw us for a loop this year having a stuck kid with a turned head no one could reach...landed her an emergency C-section! Despite everything she had no complications and has come into milk. A last minute decision to take her out to a one day show landed her a Best of Breed and Best in Show win! She is the type that gets better every year.
2014 - Still looking good after a single kid, we took Mai Tai to one 3 ring show where she was Best of Breed 2x (beaten by Maddy in ring 3) and "reserve" best in show. Her yearling daughter Miriam shocked us earning 2 GCH milking legs at the second show she attended! We love this girl!
October 2014- It is with a heavy heart that we had to say good bye to our good friend. Words will never express how much I loved and miss her. Run free Mai Tai, I will see you over the rainbow bridge one day.
